Partnership with parents

Parent involvement during their child's time at Cuddington Community Nursery is very important to us. Working closely with parents, benefits the children greatly in their learning and development. Having good relationships with families helps us to plan for individuals to progress to their full potential.

Here are some ways to get involved:

Do you have a special skill or a job?

If a member of your child’s family can read a story in a different language, has a special interest in gardening or job that links into our topics through out the year please speak to the nursery manager as we welcome in visitors to extend the children’s learning and experiences.

Wow moments

Parents are invited to use these at any time to share with us your child’s achievements that they are proud of outside of nursery. This can be anything from 'putting a coat on by themselves', 'using the toilet independently' or anything else that we can work together to encourage. Please ask a member of the team for the wow moment certificates. We also use Tapestry as a valuable resource where parents and carers can upload wow moments from home (photos and or videos) that the children enjoy sharing with the rest of the class during our ‘show and tell’ sessions.

Through out the year we have a number of activity days, sing alongs, bedtime stories, assemblies, sports day, picnics and the nursery graduation where we encourage and welcome your help and support with these events throughout the year however big or small.

Parent/Carer comments, complaints and questionnaires

Every now and then parents and carers are asked to fill in questionnaires to assess the effectiveness of our nursery provision.

Parents are invited to leave us comments, compliments or complaints with their child's key person or Nursery Manager at any time and all comments are taken seriously.
