Admissions

New Reception class intake

Applications for new Reception class admissions at Cuddington should be directed to Surrey County Council for the September intake.

Children are able to start at Cuddington Community Primary School in the September after their 4th birthday, but do not need to start until the beginning of the term following their 5th birthday. This is the statutory school age. There are "cut-off" dates for each term. If your child's 5th birthday comes between:

  1. 1st April and 31st August
s/he must start school at the beginning of the Autumn Term in September
  2. 1st September and 31st December
s/he must start school at the beginning of the Spring Term in January
  3. 1st January and 31st March
s/he must start school at the beginning of the Summer Term in April

All children whose 4th birthday falls between 1st September and 31st August will be eligible to apply for a full time place in Reception at a Surrey school for the following September. Parents may request to defer their child’s entry to Reception until later in the school year, but this will not be agreed beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Parents may also request for their child to start part time, until their child reaches statutory school age.

Applications should be made to Surrey by visiting: http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/admissions
